kirsten a. kantak president

Kirsten has more than 2 decades of experience building strong specialty brands on both sides of the Atlantic. She loves this business because it’s the perfect mix of science and creativity. She’s motivated by the challenge of translating highly complex scientific ideas into compelling, memorable creative that changes beliefs and behaviors—and ultimately builds strong brands for her clients.

Kirsten is best known for her work with the Genentech BioOncology franchise, the Genentech and Roche oncology pipeline, and launches for key oncology brands such as Avastin® (US and global), Erivedge® (US and global), and Zelboraf® (US) while at Biolumina’s sister agency, Harrison and Star.

Because of her proven leadership skills and unwavering passion for the business, Kirsten was the natural choice to lead the European expansion of the agency. Kirsten worked on both the global launch and the EMEA regional launch of Zydelig® for Gilead. Additionally, she continued to work closely with the Roche team on Perjeta®, including the neoadjuvant breast cancer global launch.

Kirsten recently returned to the New York area with her family, but with a husband from Switzerland and a son born in Paris, Europe will continue to be firmly on her map.

mark friedman executive creative director

Mark is best known for launching Viagra® into the minds and bedrooms of millions of Americans. From Bob Dole to baseball, with NASCAR in between, Mark oversaw much of the creative output for the little blue pill until 2008.

But Mark is more than a one-pill wonder. He has conceived, designed, produced, and overseen award-winning work for Pfizer, Novartis, Genentech, Bayer, Abbott, Merck, Parke-Davis, Novo Nordisk, and GlaxoSmithKline for both US and global markets.

Whether for Rx brands such as Viagra, Lucentis®, Norvasc®, Serevent®, Lipitor®, Tobi®, Xarelto®, and Pepcid®, or OTC brands and services such as Unisom®, Bengay®, Cortizone 10®, and New York Life, Mark’s creative thinking and energy have inspired the launches of blockbuster brands and breathed new life into old ones.

Mark is a founding producer of Pharmapalooza, an annual industry battle-of-the bands event that raises funds for the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in New York. He has earned numerous awards, including dozens of Creativity Awards, 4 Rx Golds, 5 Rx Silvers, and a One Show Silver Certificate, as well as being on the team responsible for the MedAdNews “Ad of the Year” nod for the Lucentis 15 Letters campaign.

Mark is a graduate of and guest lecturer at Syracuse University, an avid tennis player, and a lover of music, food, and wine.
